Vedic Maths is an ancient system of mental calculation formalized in the early 20th century by the Indian mathematician Jagadguru Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha. It is based on 16 Sutras (word-formulae) and 13 sub-sutras that offer fast, efficient mental shortcuts for solving arithmetic and algebraic problems.

While the abacus relies on a physical or visualized tool to track place values, Vedic Maths relies entirely on mental pattern recognition and properties of numbers.The system simplifies complex calculations into single-line mental math.
