“We are Indians, firstly and lastly.”– B. R. Ambedkar.
26th of January is a day to remember when India’s constitution
came into force on 1950, completing the country’s transition
toward becoming an independent republic. The 74th Republic Day
was celebrated with pride and reverence at St. Anthony’s Church
School, Gangondanahalli. The rhythmic band of the school played
a note which reverberated everyone with the feelings of
patriotism. The ceremony began with the unfurling of the
tricolour, the pride of Nation by the revered Chief Guest Mr. A

the native of Karubele Parish.

8th student, highlighted the history and the significance of the
Republic day in Kannada and English language respectively. The
Chief Guest in his address appealed the students to value the
sacrifices made by the great freedom fighters and strengthen the
integrity of the nation by contributing towards the wellbeing of
the society. He also reiterated the need of practicing the core
values of the Constitution to spread peace and harmony in
society and to solidify the unity of the Nation.
